Neo Academy Open: New Year, New Students, Failing Already!?

5 years after Jaden's graduation at the Duel Academy, the new Neo Duel Academy in Neo Domino City is about to open. First year students include: Raven Hogan, Mashiro Sakamoto, Gale Kou, Asura Kishin, Alexander Tenshin, Vern Gol, William Bukashi, and Thorn ???.

It's time for the entrance exams, which some are able to bypass. Raven has been placed in the Armor Master Dorm due to his lineage, and Asura has been placed in the Red Dragon Dorm due to a surprise test put on for the teachers. All other students are awaiting their entrance duels, but some, including Raven and Asura, may be behind already.

Duelists may be put in the same dorm, though they can make their way up. Who will become friends, and who will become rivals? Will Raven live up to his name, and who is Asura? Now: Neo Academy Open: New Year, New Students, Failing Aready!?

Breathing in the cool morning air, Vern leaned out the window of his apartment, enjoying the view of his candid neighborhood in a small suburban section in NeoDomnio City. He looked back into the room, his few belongings already stowed away in a relatively small travel bag and a messenger bag. Vern had packed his stationary, what few clothes he had, and his duel disk in the travel bag, while his cards and other items he deemed would come in handy in his messenger bag. on his right side his deck box was clipped onto his belt. After taking in another deep breath, he finally picked up his bags and walked down the stairs of the apartment, leaving his keys in a bin, which had a small screen on top of it. The screen flashed green for a moment, which then led the bin to disappear into the wall. An obviously synthetic female voice spoke: "Thank you for residing in-- *bzzt*" Vern chuckled. It was not often that something would break down, but when it did, it usually happened during the most inappropriate times. With that, he headed out and walked into the bustling city of Neo Domino.
Vern wound his way across numerous streets, stopping at a cafe for a bit to get something to eat and drink. After satisfying his appetite, Vern pulled out a map from his messenger bag. "Hmm...let's see here..." he muttered to himself, checking his surroundings, then his map, for about 2-3 times before he finally found his bearings. "Left....A right there....then..down? no no no...it's North..then West...argh!!" Quite obviously, Vern had troubles with topography and everything related with maps and...maps. Finally he gave up and resigned himself to wandering the streets, where, to a very big dismay to the readers, just so happened upon the Duel Academy.
Walking up to the gate, he quickly fished out his wallet from his back pocket, and extracted a card--his I.D., to be exact. With this he inserted it into a slot on the right-hand side of the gate, which had a blinking light. It turned green, and the gates slowly opened.
At first he thought it was just his eyes deceiving himself. But after blinking a few times, he stood there, mouth agape at the large...estate that the academy resembled. Quickly he walked in before the gates closed. Vern looked around, unsure as to where he was to go. Simply put, he was too dazzled by the Academy to really do anything, at this moment.

William waited in the Arena, impatiently he checked his duel disk. It was still the same bright yellow color and still had that cut on its "gem" due to the incident. Will ignored this and decided to check his deck out of boredom, then he toke out one particular card he was quite fond of, Flamevell Urquizas a card that he always had felt a close bond to. He lazily placed the cards back into the Duel Disk and waited for the announcer to say something, two other people had already done the test and he was awaiting his turn. Once he had shuffled and re-shuffled his deck countless times he heard the announcer call "Will William Bukashi please report to the Dueling Field".


"About time..." William muttered under his breath while walking down to the field. There he approached a man wearing the clothing of a Sector Security officer, but Will knew better this is one of the "Duel Robots" used to test children. Muttering insults under his breath he pressed a button on his Duel Disk, allowing it to gain two card slots. Both the Security Robot's and William's Duel Disk's activated, then a screen appeared showing the number "4000" his total lifepoints. The Security said in a synthetic voice " You shall go first", "Very well" William replied as he drew one card from his deck. After taking quick notice of the cards in his hand, William said with mild authority "I summon the Volcanic Slicer in attack position!". As he placed the card a armored lizard appeared next to him, the number 1800 appeared next to it. "Now I set a card, then I activate the effect of Slicer allowing me to take 500 out of your lifepoints!". The Security's lifepoints decreased from 4000 to 3500 in one turn, "Now I think I'll end my turn here your move!"

The sun hanging high in the air, and the air warm with a soft breeze. Asura lounges on the top of a building, towering over Neo Domino City, staring into space after a duel, with a blank look on his face. "It's nice," he claims in a calm voice, beginning to grin. Clad with bue jeans, a black t-shirt, red shoes, an electronic wristband on his right arm, and a duel disk on his left arm. He de-activates his duel disk, placing it on a magnetic strap that is slung over one shoulder, looping down the left side of his back to his opposite hip, returning his deck to his deck box, located on his right hip. "Another loss for me, that makes 10 straight". Asura turns his gaze to the ground and walks away, placing earbuds into his ears. "Music, sweet harmony, flowing with energy."

As he exits the building he wonders what he should do next, when he realizes that today is the first day at the new Neo Duel Academy. "I nearly forgot. So, my friend, who should be my next opponent?" Asura asks the air. He continues down the street, passing many card stores, and many people calling out for a duel without so much as flinching. Duel runners fly by at high speeds. Asura continues along his way, ignoring any possible distraction, until he comes across the entrance to Neo Duel Academy.

Already placed in a dorm, and already having moved his personal belongings into the dorm, Asura bumbles up to the gate, noticing he is the third one to enter the gate, he pulls out his ID card, placing it in front of the scanner to confirm his arrival. Walking through the gate, Asura notices a look out area, high in the central tower, looking out over most of the city. "This should do. What do you think?" he once again asks the air.

Having finally reached the topmost balcony, Asura looks on in the direction of the gate, watching for the arrival of the other new students. While waiting, Asura decides to look over his deck. "39. Maybe, but I don't know." he tells the air. He then thinks to himself, maybe I'll go and buy some cards in the school shop. His eyes then return to the gate from which he entered, empty expression on his face, reminding himself that he can't leave now. Then, in an instant, his blank face turns to a crooked grin...

Alarm clock rang, a body shook, and then fell to a thud. Mashiro woke to see it barely 7:00 a.m. and then he knew, "Shoot, I'm late." After a quick preparation, Mashiro with his backpack, decks, and duel disk, had burst from the door and ran quickly ahead.

After a long while of running, he finally got to the the area to register to enter the Duel Academy. The instructor asked for the identification and the completion of a form, all of which Mashiro didn't know before hand. He hastily finished the form and went inside. In the room, he found many things in the hall, posters of famous duelists left and right, with statues of many other monsters. He found himself to have wandered into main duel room, gazing with awe the sight of such a place. He gazed with wonder until someone asked, "Hey what are you doing here? If you're a new student, you gotta go take the entrance exam first." Mashiro first was hesitant, but then asked, "Which way to the exam room?" The person answered, "Down the left two halls after a right and you should be there." With the information he needed, Mashiro ran off to the class room to take his test, only running even faster when he read his watch with the time saying "10:00 a.m."

After walking around the campus and getting lost in general, Vern somehow found his way back to the entrance. This time he noticed a map on the wall next to the gate, which he didn't notice before, as his back was facing it. Next to the map was a description of the campus facilities, and he skimmed through it all until his eyes rested upon the words "exam room". He quickly located the room on the map, but let out an inaudible groan as he realized that he was looking at a map. With a sense of vanity, he tried to search the map for a "you are here" star or arrow, and after much arduous journeying across the whole campus map with his eyes, Vern finally managed to locate the gate, with a very small star with even smaller font saying "here you are". Muttering to himself about how inappropriately placed and sized the map was, he quickly found the right path to the Exam Room. Now his only problem was actually getting there. On foot, and not eyeballs.
Thus Vern set out on his very first journey in the Academy--locating the Exam Room. Unfortunately for him, he was not very lucky with his findings. Twice he happened upon rooms with cranky teachers in them, scrambling to find the right cards in their numerous piles of boxes of cards, who yelled at him upon his entrance. Oh yeah, Vern didn't have a uniform. That was probably why. <I better take that exam really quick..> he thought to himself, with a growing sense of urgency as each room he happened upon was either some teacher spouting curses then shouting their faces off at him to leave, or that his entering into a room was simply awkward, such as when he stumbled upon the cafeteria, and saw two teachers...well, let's say they were flirting. Flustered and a bit irked, Vern sat down on a bench, his two bags still on him. He had to face the problem: he was lost, and he would probably not find the Exam Room in time. Suddenly, he heard, not too far off, the unmistakable muffled sound of a megaphone or speaker coming from a room. <That's IT!> Vern thought, and quickly gathered his stuff and headed over towards the general direction of the sound.
With the sounds becoming louder and louder, he finally found the correct room and pushed it open, and nearly fell down when he saw the back of what looked like an eight foot tall armored lizard, standing next to...a human. <Oh...the exam duels have started already. Glad I'm not late!> Vern looked around, and, since he saw that a duel was already in progress, decided to go to the sidelines, where there was a cluster of chairs raised on platforms to sit on and observe the duel. Silently, he picked a nice seat in the upper corner where he was just out of the peripheral view of the prospective student. <Volcanic deck? Hmm...wonder if my Aliens have any chance with the people here...> he reached down to his waist, and extracted his deck, with the top card being a Cosmic Fortress Gol'gar. Vern had three of them. He smiled as he recalled the his joy when he finally collected three of them, thus finishing his Alien Deck. Of course, his deck was far from being perfected, and Vern had doubts that he had what it takes to actually perfect his Aliens. He might switch into his other deck that he brought, with him, but that deck was deemed too powerful by most people he dueled, so he decided to ban himself from that deck, despite still bringing it along with his Aliens. But then again, this WAS Neo Domino City. Vern didn't come all the way from the Far East just to find out that the duelists here are as incompetent as the ones back in his homeland.
So, Vern simply sat there, observing the duel, feeling the joy of dueling come surging back into himself. Suddenly, Vern knew what he was going to do: He wanted to duel.

As Raven sat in the sunset he looked across the horizon he saw the beauty of the Neo Domino City. He wondered what crow would have done as he was watching the sunrise on the top of his dorm, The Armor Master dorm. Im in there because of My brother Crow Hogan who as many of you know helped Yusei and Jack to beat the Dark signers. But as the duelist raven had saw before came Closer he could identify it as.....Asura! his enemy he knew that there was ether a duel or a fight but as he saw the sun come up the bell rang and it was time for his classes.

Raven Rushed after school to meet his great friend Mashiro he liked him even though he was a good duelist almost as good as him yet he has beat him before and i beat him were both great duelists yet he was his friend they knew each other since they were kids.

As raven awoke in the morning he found that it was just after the time he had gotton up the day before he opened up a can of soda and then his phone rang it was his Brother Crow! he answered the phone to find that crow wanted to find him and give him a card that he needed then he hung up. Had Crow gotton the card i needed? had he gotton the Blackwing Lone silver wind? Find out if he will get the card,or duel Asura or more!

Alex grimaced to himself; It was so like his multi-millionaire father to forget to tell him something this important. Upon learning that he was going to the Neo-Academy, he'd found himself happy to escape. His father of course, neglected to tell him WHEN he'd be attending. The pilot had arrived that morning without warning, his luggage and deck already packed, expecting a ready Alex. He wasn't ready. After a quick hour of preperation for meeting the real world, his pilot quickly escorted him to the helicopter.
Within an hour of departure, his helicopter was landing at the Neo-Academy heliport. As Alex gazed at the sprawling Neo-Academy complex before him, he realized that this was where he needed to be. He needed to escape his couped up life. He was ready.
The helicopter landed and Alex got out, the wind off the helicopter's rotors tousling his blonde hair and ruffling his designer jacket. The pilot helped drag his luggage out of the helicopter and through the hallways to an office. "Your luggage will stay here until you get assigned a dorm, sir ", the pilot explained.
"How do I get assigned?" Alex asked.
"If you take two rights, you'll get to an exam room. You'll take an exam there that will place you. But before that, you should put on your uniform.", said the pilot, holding out a uniform for Alex. "You can change in this office." The pilot walked out of the office, "This is where I leave you, sir"
"Alright, bye!" said Alex, already excited. What kind of exam? he wondered, changing into his uniform, but keeping his signature, blue and black, designer jacket.
After changing and grabbing his deck from his bags, Alex followed the pilot's directions. He soon found himself at a door labled "Exam Room". Hesitating before the door, he reached into his pocket to pull out his deck. Pulling out his "Airknight Parshath" for luck, Alex walked through the Exam Room doors.

He was done watching the duel. Vern slowly took out his duel disk, which he kept in good condition, polishing it every two or three days. Slowly, but a but shakily, he slipped the disk onto his left arm, feeling the weight of it pushing his arm down. The disk glinted in the light, with its amber sphere and completely black blade, where he would put his monsters or set spells or traps in. Reaching down to his side, he took out his deck, putting his Gol'gars into their respective holder inside the sphere. He took a deep breath. Swiftly, he put his deck into the deck holder, and his disk sprang to life: the amber light gave off a faint but warm glow, and luminescent white lines began to show on the surface of the black, slowly revealing line-by-line the monster zones.
Vern stood up, and walked out the door. He recalled seeing another room next to it, with the door ajar. Meekly, the boy walked in. His eyes scanned the room, taking in the details. Like the other room, there were chairs on either side, but no one was there. In the center, was a duel field, and on the other side, there was a robot standing in the duelist zone, a duel disk in hand and active.
"shhh.....Welcome..." it breathed, as if it had not been put to use in a long time. "...to the Duel Academy Entrance Exam!....sshhhh" The robot slowly moved into a ready position, disk already activated, with the number 4000 appearing on its standard ruby-red sphere. It released a peculiar wave that Vern felt, like a gust of wind, and his duel disk suddenly responded. It activated, the amber light glowing brighter now, with the number 4000 appearing in it as well. "ssshh...My turn. DRAW!"
The robot drew a card from the deck, in a wide, sweeping motion. "ssshh....I summon Ghost Gardna in defense position....set 2 cards, turn end....ssshhh" Suddenly on the field a large bluish monster appeared on the field, along with two large-sized face down cards behind it. Vern contemplated his situation for a moment.
"DRAW!" he muttered, lazily moving his hand to his deck, and pulling away, with a card in his fingers. He checked the card. <Mind Trust. perfect.> he thought, as his eyes scanned the rest of his hand: Alien Ammonite, Alien Warrior, Ancient Forest, Swords of revealing Light, and Alien Shocktrooper. "I summon Alien Shocktrooper in attack position." A large, reptilian centaur kind of monster appeared in front of Vern, arching its back with a battle cry. "ssshh...activate trap! Spellbinding Circle!" the robot responded.
Vern was taken aback by this. <What...I though this was a standard Security Deck...> he thought. "Fine," Vern replied, "I activate Swords of Revealing Light!...turn end." Three white sword-like figures appeared above the robot, and came down in a triangle shape around the robot's field.
"ssshh...Draw..." The robot repeated his draw habit. After a moment of checking his cards, he finally looked up and spoke, "set one card, turn end....sssshhhhh"
Vern smiled. "Draw!" He drew a Planet Pollutant Virus. <Soon, this will be over.> he thought. "I set one card." "ssshhh....continue...." the robot replied. "Next," Vern continued "I activate the field spell, Ancient Forest!" Suddenly, the whole field changed and became a lush, green forest. "...ssshh...chain! Mystical Space Typhoon!" A sudden tempest rose out of thin air. Its countenance seemed quite disconcerting. "sssh...I choose to destroy Ancient Forest!" <Tch...> Vern thought to himself, as the tempest rose and encompassed the whole field. Ancient Forest was ejected from the field card zone, which Vern caught and placed in the graveyard slot. Vern paused, seeing the flaw in his strategy already. "I summon Alien Warrior in attack position! turn end."
"ssshhh...draw..." the robot drew a card...needless to say. "I summon Krebons in attack position...ssshhh"
"not so fast!" Vern called, "I respond! trap open! Planet Pollutant Virus! I tribute my alien warrior, and destroy all your face-up monsters!" Suddenly, from the now 'opened' trap card, a flood of alien-like slimeballs flew onto the robot's field. It swarmed all around his monsters, destroying them. "shhs.....turn end."
"draw!" Vern smiled. He drew power filter. "I summon alien ammonite in attack position! With ammonite's effect, i special summon alien shocktrooper from my grave! synchro summon! Come forth and Invade! Cosmic Fortress Gol'gar!" A large, massive ship-like monster arose, with tentacles at its side. "I activate Gol'gar's effect! i return my swords, and your spellbinding circle back to our hands, and put two a counters on alien warrior! Then i remove those two to destroy your set card!" The tentacles from Gol'gar moved and whipped the said cards back to Vern and the robot's hand. Then, a sharp laser shot out from it and destroyed the robot's set card. It was a Double Summon. <A bluff, eh?....he must've had it there for a reason, though.> Vern felt a bit troubled by this. "continuing on," Vern said "My Alien shocktrooper attakcs directly for 1900." The reptilian monster charged at the robot, and slashed it. 1900 points were deducted from the robot's count. "and Finally," Vern concluded " Cosmic Fortress Gol'gar attacks directly to end this! Annihilate!!"
The large fortress-like monster turned its attention to the robot. It started charging a beam, and launched it at the robot. It become engulfed in a stream of bright light, its life points dropping down to 0. The robot's duel disk let out a steam of air. Vern sighed. He won.
But nothing happened. Nothing. Vern put his cards back into his duel disk, and looked around. He didn't seem to see anyone. <Hm...was that, then just a practice duel!?> This thought scared Vern a little, as the duel was difficult to win.

"Maybe we should go and look into the beginners." Asura said to the air.
He began making his way down to the exam hall, his gaze fixed upon the ground. Asura passed many rooms, and many students who were talking about their new dorms. He was one of the few placed in the Red Dragon dorm, but he didn't have to take the entrance duel, nor did he care to alert his fellow dorm mates. Asura wanted to see some duels in action, hoping to get a glance at what he would be facing. He knew what his deck held, but his opponents would be people with exceptional skill, moreso than those he faced before.

As Asura entered the exam hall, he noticed many duelists awaiting their turn on the bench, still pondering what dorm they will get, hoping to make an easy match of the test bots. He quietly made his way to the highest, yet least visible spot, watching and analyzing every move. There were no pushovers among them, and he made a note to himself, that he wouldn't cross paths with any of these students, as they were well beyond his skill level. Viral outbreaks of Alien invasions, agonizing eruptions of molten Volcanics. These would be tough to beat, let alone make it just a few turns.

One student captured Asura's eye more than any other though, Raven Hogan. He knew that Hogan had been placed in a high dorm, though not as high as his own, but only out of respect to his lineage. His seemingly cocky attitude irked Asura in a way that only few have managed to do before, sparking Asura to keep a special amount of attention focused on Hogan. "I wonder, does Hogan know best?" he thought. "Maybe he just needs to be put in his place, and to learn that who you are related to doesn't define who you are."

Some impressed him more than others, such as Vern Gol, who had a calm demeaner to him, always in control. Will Bukashi seemed overconfident, but his play matched his intensity, managing to do some damage on his first turn and summon a powerful monster in one move. "I may have some competition, but none will stop me. And I will deal with Hogan myself." Asura said to the air.

I was alone only for moments before the other students began flooding the roof. Yet one, Raven Hogan, the one I knew to watch, strolled right up to me, and in a big voice, brimming with confidence, announced his challenge. It was news to me that he already was willing to fall to me. So I readied my deck and duel disk, and accepted his challenge.

As Raven was sitting on the Roof of his dorm he noticed that the mysterious Asura was standing on the roof.He wanted to know what Asura was doing there and as Asura raised his head i Yelled at the Top of my Lungs''I challenge you, Asura to a duel!'' and i didnt know what i had just done Asura was a few dorms higher than me he seemed stronger yet he seemed scared as he walked seeing other duelists in even higher dorms than him. I knew the look he had just given me it was a confident look just like Crow used to give me when he was about to go to duel someone. It seemed that he wasnt scared of me i was scared of him but just as crow said 1000 times, ''Never forget your deck is your best weapon'' and as i said that many times under my breath i knew 1 thing. It was time to DUEL

Walking through the exam room doors, Alex Tenshi saw a Cosmic Foretress Gol'Gar launch a beam of light a duelbot; reducing the projected lifepoints to zero. He grimaced, people here sure seem skilled, what a way win! Complete obliteration!

The duelist turned around, not noticing Alex, who was hovering by the door. Looking befuddled, the duelist walked over to the side of the arena. Alex followed, intending to make his first friend. "Hi! I'm Alex Tenshi"

"Byebye Ne-chan!! I'm going to the Acadamy now for my entrance exams!!" Thorn waved goodbye to her older sister, Aki Izayoi and placed a card in her duel disk. Thorn and her sister shared the powers of a Psychic Duelist, able to make their cards come to life, and inflict real pain on someone in a duel. She was only 11, yet had been accepted into the acadamy due to her excellent dueling potential. However, part of it was also because her older sister had managed to pull some strings at the acadamy to let an 11 year old girl into a Duel Acadamy meant for much older duelists than her.
The card Thorn had placed in the Duel Disk was Gigaplant. Even without the Solid Vision programming, the massive pile of foliage and fungi came to life, and lent down a vine for Thorn to climb on. The 10 foot tall plant began to slowly move, giving Thorn a ride to Duel Acadamy while she changed into her school uniform. The monster was slow, but it still beat walking. After about 10 minutes, they arrived at the Acadamy.
"Thank you, Giga-san!!" The plant giant nodded, agknowleging her as it retreated back into her deck in a shimmer.
"WOOAAhhhh... this place is huge.... Oh well, i'm sure I'll find my way to my entrance exams." She smiled and skipped into the building, peeking into each room. Eventually, she found the room she was looking for. She could tell, because a pillar of fire erupted out of the door when she opened it, and barely missed her.
"Wow, so this is what Solid Vision looks like!! These look almost as real as Ne-chan and my cards!" She rushed into the room, and saw a bunch of duels going on, as well as one duel just ending. There was a giant monster, between a mix of an octopus and a spaceship, hovering over one of the young duelists, and a red beam was fading from it's eyes. She ran over to one of the Duel Fields, where a robot duelist was waiting on the other side.
"Duel Mode Activate. Prepare to Duel." The Duel Disks on the robot, and on Thorn's arm lighted up and activated, both showing an LP count of 4000.
"YAY!! It looks like I get to start my exam right away. That's good, because I hate to wait, and to keep others waiting. Duel!"

After a long ordeal of testing, Mashiro was finally done and was walking about. Out of curiosity, he peeked into a duel room to take in the sight. As he walked in, he suddenly felt an urge to put on his duel disk, but he knew the time for that wasn't now. As he went around, he also noticed people starting taking seats in the room, also wondering why they were sitting. "They probably think I'm an idiot," he thought. Suddenly on the speakers, they shouted, "ATTENTION!! Mashiro Sakamoto, it is your turn to take the entrance duel!" He was shocked and excited with the announcement, but felt that he wasn't truly ready for this. Still contemplating the situation, he walked of the stage and and put on the duel disk.

"Commencing Duel, all others must proceed to the stands. Commencing Duel," went the duel robot. Both the duel disks on Mashiro's arm and equipped to the robot activated and shown with 4000 on it's orb. "It is my turn, draw! I set 1 monster card face-down and set 2 cards face-down and end," went the robot. As he proclaimed his actions, cards suddenly appeared onto the field with Mashiro watching with awe. "I wonder what those cards are," he thought. "It's my turn, draw!" said Mashiro. After careful consideration, he knew what he what going to do. "I activate Heavy Storm to destroy your set cards!" as a giant whirlwind came and destroyed 2 cards on the field. The robot responded, "Activating trap cards, Dark Coffin and The Statue of the Wicked. When Dark Coffin is destroyed, you must discard 1 card from your hand. When The Statue of the Wicked is destroyed, I can summon a Wicked Statue Token on my field," as a giant monster appeared onto the field. Mashiro discarded a monster quickly into his grave and smiled with certain knowledge. "I discard my Warrior of Atlantis in order to add A Legendary Ocean into my hand. Next up, I'll activate A Legendary Ocean." Suddenly, a large amount of water started to fill the room by a large amount until it finally stopped at the ceiling. "Now I summon Amphibious Bugroth MK-3!" as a giant machine appeared to his side. "With A Legendary Ocean on the field, it gains 200 attack and defense points, and with that matter out of the way attack! When Umi is on the field, or in this case A Legendary Ocean being treated as Umi, Amphibious Bugroth MK-3 can attack directly!" Following the statement, the machine launched a missle at the robot which proceeded to explode on contact. The robot's life points dropped to 2300. "I set 2 cards face-down and end my turn," ending his statement with two cards glowing onto the field. "It is my turn, draw!" went the robot. "I activate the spell card, Polymerization from my hand to combine the 3 Blue-Eyes White Dragons that are also in my hand to summon Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon!!!" Mashiro watched in awe how the mighty dragon towered over him with its 3 heads. "Now Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, attack and destroy Amphibious Bugroth MK-3!" as the dragon prepared to charge and fire a large amount of energy in its mouth. "Not so fast, I activate Sakuretsu Armor and destroy Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon!" A large demon appeared and charged toward the large dragon and slayed it. "I end my turn," went the robot. "Draw!" said Mashiro with mild content. "Since A Legenary Ocean is on the field, any Water attributed monster in my hand or field has their level dropped by 1. It is with that that I tribute my Amphibious Bugroth to summon Levia-Dragon Daedalus in attack mode!!!" The machine faded away and a giant sea creature appeared to take its place. "Now by sending Umi or a card treated as Umi to the graveyard, I can obliterate every card on the field except Daedalus. Tidal Crash!" A giant wave appeared and destroyed every other card on the field except the dragon and the ocean hologram faded away. "Levia-Dragon Daedalus, attacks you directly! Aqua Pulse Strike!" said Mashiro as his monster attacked the robot, dropping its life points from 2300 to 0. "The duel is over. Mashiro is the winner!" went the announcer. There was an applause that went throughout the room. Mashiro couldn't help but be a little surprised with his victory. A man then appeared and asked, "Are you alright? There was a malfunction in the robot's system and its original programmed deck was replaced. The problem is just about fixed now." Mashiro calmly said, "I'm fine, i somehow won against this new deck." "Really?" the man responded. "Well we'll take care of the other things for now. Be prepared to take a make-up examination for this mix-up." "Alright then" went Mashiro. He left the stage and walked to the roof of the Academy. Staring at the sky for his almost miracle victory over the robot's sabotaged deck. "I wonder what I'll have to take care of after this" went Mashiro. He took at his watch saying that it was 3:00 p.m. He then left for the cafeteria to grab a bite after that big surprise.

The Guard seemed to be a bit stunned by the attack but countinued the duel. "My turn, draw! I summon Assault Dog in defense position." A large canine with green armor and cannons on each side appeared, its points were shown soon after, 800. "I'll set two cards facedown and end my turn". "I draw", William viewed the card, Blaze Accelerator perfect. "I activate the Blaze Accelerator spell card" as he said this a large gun on stilts appeared on his side of the field. "Chain" the robot replied in his robotic tone, "I activate Trap, Dust Tornado to destroy your Blaze Accelerator!" The gun had disappeared just as fast as it had appeared, William checked his other options, Volcanic Scattorshot, Flamvell Archer, Soul of Fire, and Tri-Blaze Accelerator. "I activate Soul of Fire! Now I remove from play my Volcanic Hammerer from my deck to inflict you damage equal to half of its attack points and that equals to 1200". A wave of fire emerged from William's duel disk and hit the robot, decreasing his life-points to 2300. "Now I'm gonna re-use my Slicer's effect, allowing me to inflict you another 500 damage." The robot then got hit by another ball of flame, this time coming out from the lizard's mouth therefore leaving him with 1800 lifepoints left. "I set a monster then end my turn", the robot then screeched "Then its my turn draw! I summon Jutte Fighter in attack position" a monster resembling a middle-aged asian man appeared on his side of the field. "Now I tune my Assault Dog and Jutte Fighter", the tiny monster transformed into two circles of energy that circled around the dog, now transforming into four stars. "Now Synchro Summon! Goyo Guardian!", a man with paint on his face and wielding two sai attached to one rope appeared. "Now my monster attacks your Volcanic Slicer! Goyo Lariat!", the monster threw one of his sai at the lizard, it exploded. "I activate my trap" William said quickly as his facedown card revealed itself, "Its called Backfire, now if you destroy one of my fire type monsters you take 500 points of damage" and then a bit of fire from Slicer's explosion fell on the robot decreasing his lifepoints to 1300. "Now I use Goyo Guardian's effect to take your monster, then I shall end my turn" the robot declared, looking a bit burned. " Alright my turn I draw, I summon Flamvel Archer in attack position". A burning man with a lion-like mane of hair and a flaming bow appeared. Now I flip summon Volcanic Scattershot,and use the effect of my Archer to destroy him and give him 800 more lifepoints, also when Scattershot is destroyed you take 500 points of damage". The monster dissapered as the man with the mane gained the attack giving him a total of 1800 points. Also the robot got hit by another ball of fire lowering his lifepoints to 800, "Now I play Big Bang Shot, I equip it to Flamvel Archer giving him 400 more attack power and piercing ability". One of the hands of the man became a sphere of fire, "Now attack Slicer!". The Archer fired a lone arrow at the blue lizard and destroyed it, "Now for the rest of it" William said in a harsh manner as the Archer then punched the robot with his flaming fist. "Gahhhhhh!!!" screamed the robot as his lifepoints decreased to zero. "Now to get out of here" Will said as he walked out the door.

Gale sat quietly in his seat, watching as Masahiro and William finished their duels. "What spectacular finishers" he thought. "If that's all those duel robots have, I'm quite sure I can make it in Duel Academy. The problem is what I'll do AFTER I am in. I sure hope the people here are nice...I don't particularly like dormitories, although I haven't really tried it. Maybe I can..." his train of thought was suddenly broken by the announcement on the speakers. "ATTENTION GALE KOU! PLEASE PROCEED TO DUEL ARENA 3!" they shouted loudly, making him cringe. "OK, OK, no need to shout" Gale mumbled. He readied his duel disk and ran down the stairs to his appointed arena. "Ummm, hi?" Gale said uncertainly to the duel robot. The robot, however, simply said "DUEL COMMENCE" as the Solid Vision came to life.

"DUEL!" They shouted.

"This is it! I can't lose here!" Gale said as he made a draw. "Hmmm, I think I'll set a monster and a card. Turn End." He declared as he put two cards on his disk.

"MY TURN! DRAW!" the robot said as it made a draw. "DISCARD MACHINE KING. SUMMON THE TRICKY." he said as a bizarre jester-like monster emerged out of a portal and stared on with its nonexistent face. (2,000 Attack)
"THEN I SACRIFICE IT. SUMMON BIG CORE!" The jester-like monster was instantly replaced by a large, futuristic battleship with, as its name suggests, a big core in its center. (2,300 Attack)
"WHEN BIG CORE IS NORMAL SUMMONED, IT GETS THREE SHIELDS. BIG CORE ATTACKS YOUR SET MONSTER" the robot declared as the battleship unleashed heavy artillery on the set card. It flipped face-up to reveal a rocket-shaped skateboard, Morphtronic Boarden, which was shattered into pixels by the blast. (1,800 Defense)
"SINCE BIG CORE HAS BATTLED, IT LOSES A SHIELD. CARD SET. TURN END" the robot declared.

Gale gritted his teeth. "Newer does not mean better! That big guy will be going down soon enough. Draw!" he declared taking a card from his deck. "I summon Morphtronic Celfon, in Attack Mode!" A relatively small, yellow robot with a body that strongly represented sections of a cell phone appeared. It had antennae on its shoulders, and its shoulder blades looked like the cover of a phone while the main body has dials 1-6 on them. 7, 8, and 9 were below the robot's torso. (100 Attack)
"Now, Celfon has a neat effect, which I think I shall use now. Dial On!" he shouted, pressing a button on his duel disk. The dials on Celfon started to flash and stopped at a 4. Gale picked up 4 cards from his deck: Mage Power, Morphtronic Celfon, Morphtronic Boomboxen, and Junk Box. "Hmmmm, I guess I shall summon Morphtronic Boomboxen in Defense Mode." A long, red radio casette player appeared and started floating on the field besides Celfon. (400 Defense). "Turn End."

"MY TURN! DRAW!" the robot repeated once again. "BIG CORE, ATTACK MORPHTRONIC CELFON." the robot stated in its usual montone.

"Not so fast!" Gale shouted. "While Morphtronic Boomboxen is in Defense Position, I can negate one attack per turn on one of my Morphtronics!" The red casette player emitted a sudden sound wave that repelled the shots from Celfon.

"DEALYING WILL NOT HELP YOU FOR LONG. I PLAY THE SPELL CARD BOSS RUSH. TURN END." the robot said seemingly arrogantly.

"Draw!" Gale said. "I don't plan on stalling for long. In fact, I just needed that one turn. I start with Celfon's effect. Dial On!" The dials flashed again and stopped at 2. Gale picked up the 2 cards: Morphtronic Remoten and United we Stand. "Heh, this went better than I thought! I summon Morphtronic Remoten, in Attack Mode" he said as a REALLY small white robot with metallic arms and legs appeared. It had blue rings on its "face" but other than those it resembled a TV remote control. "I use Remoten's effect! I remove from play my Morphtronic Boarden and add a Morphtronic Scopen to my hand." The remains of the blue robot appeared before Remoten, and he quickly reconstructed them as Gale searched through his deck and took a card. "I tune Remoten and Boomboxen for my ace monster. Master of technology, forger of weapons, defend our virtues and lend us your unwavering courage. Synchro Summon! Power Tool Dragon!" he chanted as a large metallic dragon appeared. It was mostly yellow, with a grey spine and tail. It had red eyes and stood tall, eyeing its opponent.
"I use Power Tool Dragon's effect. I get to take a random Equip card from my deck." Gale declared. He let his disk shuffle the deck and hand a card to him. "Hmmmm, this is good! I equip Power Tool Dragon with Double Tool C&D." A large Drill appeared in Power Tool Dragon's left hand, a Saw in its right. "Then I attack Big Core. For your information, you won't be removing a shield to save it, since Double Tool C&D negates the effects of Power Tool Dragon's attack target." he said as Power Tool Dragon rushed forward and stabbed its weapons through the Big Core's hull.

"BOSS RUSH'S EFFECT ACTIVATES! I special summon my Big Core MK-2 from my deck" as an even larger battleship appeared in Big Core's place. This one had a crimson stripe running on it, two "arms" by its sides, and 2 exposed cores with one larger, covered core in the center. It had 6 laser beams, 2 on its arms, 2 on its hull, and 2 more near the joints. (2,400 Attack) "I ALSO ACTIVATE MY FACE-DOWN! CYBER SUMMON BLASTER! WHEN A MACHINE IS SPECIAL SUMMONED, YOU LOSE 300 LIFE POINTS"

Gale got shocked by the large contraption, and cringed in pain.

"WHEN B.E.S. BIG CORE MK-2 IS SPECIAL SUMMONED, IT OBTAINS THREE SHIELDS"

"I set a card...turn end" he said shakily, while recovering from the blast.

Startled by a sudden voice behind him, Vern turned around, and instead of seeing the dusty room from before, a much larger, brighter room bustling with people, duels, and several dueling fields. Apparently, while he was dueling, the lights turned on, and the "walls" he saw was actually his eyes playing tricks on him. Then he realized there was a boy in front of him eager to make conversation. <I herd u liek mudkipz>
Vern chuckled to himself at that sudden thought, then realized, to his confusion, that he didn't know what a 'mudkipz' was. No matter, he still had to make conversation.
"err, Hi. I'm Vern. It's nice to meet you, Alex." he replied. <At least this place can be sociable> he thought to himself. This was going to be a good year.

Alexander smiled, hand in his pocket holding his "Airknight Parshath". This guy's quite the social butterfly... Still, he seems cool enough. The way he beat that duelbot was... impressive at the least.

"You just took the exam, huh. I just saw you beat that duelbot. All I can say is WOW! That was an impressive win! From what I could tell, it looks like you use Aliens." Alex paused, "That synchro monster you won with WAS a Cosmic Foretress Gol'Gar, right?"

Alex flinched as the intercom buzzed "ALEXANDER TENSHI, PLEASE REPORT TO ARENA 2 FOR YOUR EXAM" He glanced around, looking for the arena where he would either rise into the dueling scene or fall into obscurity. Seeing Arena 2 down his left, he realized that he left his duel disk back with his luggage.

"Hey, Vern, I left my duel disk back with my stuff, d'you mind if I use yours?"

<so perceptive...>

"Aliens...yes, I use Aliens." Vern finally stated, a bit taken aback by the loud blaring speaker booming behind him.
"and thank you, you did see a Cosmic Fortress Gol'gar."

Vern paused. he removed his deck and Gol'gars, fitting them snugly back into his deck box strapped onto his belt. Then, he deliberately took off his Duel Disk, and handed it to Alex. "here, just make sure you give it back" Vern chuckled, "I'll be up there in the stands." He pointed up to a chair in the corner of the motely of chairs and raised platforms. Vern then made his way up there, and checked to make sure all his belongings were with him. Then, he sat down and relaxed, satisfied with his day so far.

Gale glanced momentarily at Alexander, who was running towards another open duel arena, and turned his attention back to his current duel.

"MY TURN! DRAW!" the Duel Robot said. "I SHALL PLAY MYSTICAL SPACE TYPHOON! DOUBLE TOOL C&D IS DESTROYED!" the robot said. Gale gasped in shock as his precious equip spell was destroyed.

"Oh dear..." Gale muttered quietly.

"B.E.S BIG CORE MK-2 ATTACK POWER TOOL DRAGON!" the bot declared.

"Heh, I KNEW that this would come in handy. Trap Card activate, Morphtronic Bind! While I control face-up Morphtronic monsters, any Level 4 or higher monsters you have cannot attack. And until you get rid of it, I don't think you really can do much." Gale said smugly.

"YOU SHALL PAY FOR THAT INSOLENCE. TURN END."

"Ok...draw! I use Celfon's effect! Dial On!" The dial landed on a 5 this time. He picked the cards up: Morphtronic Scopen, Morphtronic Repair Unit, Royal Decree, Mage Power, Morphtronic Slingen. "Perfect, I summon Morphtronic Scopen in Attack Mode" he stated. What appeared was a purple robot with a sling attached to its hands and long shoulders. It had mismatching legs and shoulders: The right shoulder and leg were thicker, while the left shoulder and leg were thinner and had another string attached between them. (1,200 Attack)
"OK, next up I use Power Tool Dragon's effect. I can search for an Equip." His deck shuffled itself and ejected a card. "Perfect...United we Stand" Gale thought. "I use Scopen's effect and special summon Morphtronic Boomboxen." This time, the casette player ejected its various parts to form a blocky robot with a disk-like head. (1200 Attack) "Now, I equip it with United we Stand." A yellow aura began to surround Boomboxen and empower it. (4400 Attack) "Boomboxen can attack twice in one turn. And if I attack your B.E.S, it's just enough to chip away at your life points. Boomboxen, attack!" Gale shouted, as Boomboxen launched focused sound waves and dropped one of the Big Core's shields, with the shockwave reaching the robot as well.

"And now it's over! Morphtronic Boomboxen shall attack again!" Gale shouted as Boomboxen flew up to B.E.S Big Core and threw a hard punch against its shield, shattering it and knocking the duel robot off its feet.

(Gale: 3700)----(Robot: 0)

"That was a nice duel. But it WAS too easy to be truly exciting." Gale commented as he started walking back to the stands, just in time to witness Alexander dueling the robot.

Alex accepted the Duel Disc, noticing smooth polish as he did so. Alex whistled appreciatively, "Thanks, You sure keep this in tip-top shape. I'll make sure to return it to you the same way... Hope the duelbots aren't too hard, wish me luck!"

"ALEX TENSHI, PLEASE REPORT TO ARENA 2", the loudspeaker blared again. Alex waved goodbye to Vern and jogged off to Arena 2. As he arrived at the designated area, the duelbot buzzed, "ALEXANDER TENSHI?"

"Yeah, I'm Alex Tenshi", he said to the duelbot. "Let's get this over with...", Alex muttered.

"DUEL!" buzzed the Robot.

"Duel", agreed Alex as Solid Vision activated. (Alex:4000) (Duelbot:4000)

"THE EXAMINER SHALL PROCEDE", droned the robot. Drawing 6 cards, the duelbot set 2 spell or trap cards and set a monster. "END PHASE"

"Draw!", exclaimed Alex as he drew. Not bad... not bad at all, Alex thought. "I activate the Field Spell, The Sanctuary in the Sky! This card allows me to take no battle damage from battles involving fairies", the field transformed into a cloud-born citadel. White mists swirled around the field as ancient marble buildings rose from the ground. "Next, I'll summon my Nova Summoner, in attack mode!" A celestial winged halo appeared on the field. "Nova Summoner, attack the facedown monster!", the halo launched a ball of white light at the monster.

"ASSAULT DOG IS DESTROYED, TRIGGERING IT'S EFFECT. ANOTHER ASSAULT DOG IS SPECIAL SUMMONED FROM THE DECK IN DEFENSE POSITION." Didn't see that coming, I'd better set up some defense, mused Alexander

"Set one spell or trap cards, your turn"

"I WILL SEND ASSAULT DOG TO THE GRAVEYARD TO TRIBUTE SUMMON HANDCUFF DRAGONS" A bizarre dragon resembling a giant pair of handcuffs replaced the Assault Dog. (Handcuffs Dragon - 1800atk, 1800def), "ATTACK NOVA SUMMONER" Alex grinned at the bot.

"Bad move, destroying Nova Summoner while the Sanctuary in the Sky is active allows me to special summon an Airknight Parshath from my deck." A centauric, winged Angel appeared on the field as the duelbot ended it's turn.

"Draw! Excellent. First off I'll activate my set Light of Redemption", one of Alex's set traps flipped up. "If I discard a LIGHT monster while my Sanctuary is out, this card allows me to destroy a card either in your hand or on the field. I'll destroy discard my Shining Angel to destroy Handcuffs Dragon". Alex discarded a Shining Angel to the graveyard and a lightning from the sky struck Handcuffs Dragon. The dragon exploded. "I'll then activate my Giant Trunade, which returns all spell and trap cards on the field to our respective hands". The Duelbot's two set cards returned to it's hand, the surrounding mist and marble buildings faded as the Sanctuary in the Sky was returned to Alex's hand.

"Now that you're defenseless, I'll summon The Agent of Creation - Venus in attack mode!" A long-haired angel, surrounded in celestial orbs, appeared (The Agent of Creation - Venus - 1600atk, 0def). "I'll use her effect to pay 1500 life points to Special Summon three Mystical Shine Balls" (Alex-2500, Duelbot-4000). Three of the multiple celestial orbs surrounded Venus condensed into 3 identical balls of light. (Mystical Shine Ball - 500atk, 500def). "I'll then directly with all of my monsters!" With a flash of bright light, the Duelbot's lifepoints were reduced to zero. (Alex-2500, Duelbot-0).

"ALEXANDER TENSHI WINS", announced the robot.

"That Alex guy...he and Vern. I shall look out for them. They seem to be the most skilled out of all the applicants here." Gale thought. Meanwhile, he was watching Thorn as she took her time dueling. He shuddered. Not that he was prejudiced against them, but he can't help that Psychic duelists scare him. Especially the little sister of one of the most famous and powerful Psychic duelists of all, the Black Rose Witch. In a Psychic duel, true harm befell the competitors. And he was not used to pain, not at all. "After this is all over, I'm writing a letter to Raiki and Taka about all this," he decided. "Hmmm, maybe not Taka. He'll probably become jealous, and I don't want him to feel bad. I'm sure his parents doesn't appreciate my love for Duel Monsters either," he mused. "Seriously, how can they deny him this opportunity, this dream, just because of their own prejudiced beliefs! I mean, I know they want what's best for him, but have they ever thought about what he wants?" Gale thought outrageously. Gale decided to go outside and tour the island. The proceedings would not begin for about another 5 hours anyways, surely that was plenty of time for him to get back.

"Hmmph we aren't even on the island yet and I'm bored" Will said as he stared at the duels. He saw that the Alex person and the Thorn girl were dueling but he was hardly paying attention due to his boredom. He merely decided to search for a activity to occupy his time, he saw two people while he searched outside the exam building, both of which seemed to not like each other much by the looks of it. He hoped that something interesting would happen before the duels started, almost non-thinking, he decided to fiddle with his powers in a corner. When he was behind the building, he decided to cause some mischief. "I activate Sparks," he said placing the card on his duel disk, almost instantly a spark of bright orange flame appeared in the center of his duel disk. He was slightly surprised that it appeared so quickly, all the other times he had to play the card multiple times. The fire then cooled down and Will realized that he could not keep this particular attack going. He then approached the front where the two people where,then he whispered ever so slightly "I activate the spell card Sparks", placing the card again on his duel disk. The small flame then shot at the two, Will quickly hid behind a tree and smirked, then glanced at the area, waiting to see there reaction.

Alex smiled happily, That was easier then expected. I'm almost disappointed, if the standard is this slack for getting into the academy... Alex cleared his thoughts and, seeing Vern in the stands, he walked over. "Hey, Vern, that was fun. Do you know where we're supposed to go now?"

I really need to grab my stuff. Alex mused to himself, I wonder if Vern'll help me. I've got a LOT of luggage... .

"Good luck, Mr. Robot!! I'll start!" Thorn drew a card from her deck, and smiled.

"I think I'll Summon a Monster in Defence Position! Come on out, Mystic Tomato!" An ugly red tomato with a scary face appeared and sat in front of Thorn (DEF = 1100).

"Now I think I'll set one card. Your turn!" Thorn put a card in her Spell/Trap zone and her turn was over.

"THE TURN IS MINE. DRAW." The robot put a card from the top of its deck into its hand. "I SUMMON: PURSUIT CHASER. (ATK = 1400) PURSUIT CHASER ATTACKS THE OPPONENT'S MONSTER." A rocket came from the robot and it launched itself at the Mystic Tomato. As the Tomato shattered, Pursuit Chaser continuted its assault.

"WHEN PURSUIT CHASER DESTROYS THE OPPONENT'S DEFENCE POSITION MONSTER, YOU RECEIVE 500 POINTS OF DAMAGE." The robot hologram flew through Thorn, dropping her LP down to 3500.

"OOhh, that was cool!! But Mystic Tomato has a special effect! When he's destroyed by battle, I summon a DARK monster from my deck with an ATK score of 1500 or less! Come on out, Sangan!" A little fiend-like ball of fur appeared from Thorn's deck and started jumping around. (ATK = 1000)

"Isn't he cute? He's one of my favorites."

"ONE CARD IS PLACED FACE-DOWN. TURN END." A face-down card appeared behind Pursuit chaser, then the turn was Thorn's.

"Let's see what my deck can do this turn!! Draw!" The drawn card was Night Rose Knight.

"Yay!! You get to see my Ne-chan's favorite monster! First things first though. I activate a Spell Card! Mystical Space Typhoon!" As she showed her Spell, a cyclone came forth and aimed at the robot's hidden card.

"THIS TRIGGERS A CHAIN. ACTIVATE FACE-DOWN CARD: NO ENTRY! ALL MONSTERS MUST CHANGE TO DEFENCE POSITION IMMEDIANTLY!" Both Thorn and the Robot's monsters changed to a guard stance and turned blue.

"Yay! That worked out better than I thought! Okey, now I Summon a monster. Come on out, Tuner Monster, Night Rose Knight!" A female knight, encased in black armor and blue hair, emerged and held her sword high.

"This is the fun part! Now her monster effect activates, and I can Summon a level 4 or lower Plant-Type monster from my hand. Let's let Lord Poison have the spotlight now!" An ugly tanglement of vines and thorns appeared above the Rose Knight.

"I tune my Level 3 Night Rose Knight to my level 4 Lord Poison. Chilling flames engulf this entire world, Pitch-dark flower........ Set into bloom!!" The Rose Knight and Lord Poison dissapeared, followed by a violet beam blasting down behind Thorn.

"Synchro Summon!! Appear now, Black Rose Dragon!!!!!" The beam vanished, and a storm of black rose petals erupted around Thorn's dueling field. A beautiful dragon took form behind Aki, it's body was dark as night, but the petals that made up it's wings were blood crimson. (ATK = 2400)

"So, Mr. Robot, what do you think of my Ne-chan's bestest card? Well it's about to get even better! I activate my face-down card, Call of the Haunted! This brings back my Night Rose Knight for another round!" The spirit of her faithful Knight rose back out of her Graveyard, and took place on the field.

"Now, I can Synchro Summon again! I tune my Level 3 Night Rose Knight to my level 3 Sangan. Lone flower which blossoms in the forest of the sun, appear from the roots and show yourself now!!" A cluster of petals remaining from the Black Rose storm gathered together in one spot.

"Synchro Summon!! Appear now, Splendid Rose!!" A blonde woman with rose petals making up most of her outfit danced onto the field, carrying a whip densly lined with thorns. (ATK = 2200)

"EVEN WITH YOUR TWO SYNCHRO MONSTERS, MY PURSUIT CHASER IS IN DEFENCE POSITION. I WILL SURVIVE THIS ROUND." The robot said with artificial confidance.

"Well then you've never seen my Aki-chan duel then. Black Rose Dragon's monster effect! By removing one Plant Type monster from my Graveyard, one opposing monster is changed to Attack Position, and its ATK points are dropped to zero!!! Go, Black Rose Gale!!"

The spirit of Lord Poison hovered in front of Black Rose Dragon, and was devoured. Thorned whips came from the Dragon's tail, paralyzing Pursuit chaser, and holding it in ATK position. (ATK = 0) Before the robot had a chance to be suprised, Thorn continued onto her Battle Phase.

"Splendid Rose, attack Pursuit Chaser!!" With the movements of a ballet dancer, the emerald dressed woman cracked the whip over top of the robot, destroying it and reducing her opponent's LP by more than half in one blow.

"Battle. Black Rose Dragon, attack the Security Robot directly. Black Rose Flare!!" A black inferno mixed with razor sharp rose petals erupted from the legendary dragon's mouth, scorching the entire half of the Security's field.
